Cherington (in Gloucestershire) is four miles north, north east of Tetbury. The village centres on a small green at the convergence of three roads leading to Tetbury, Minchinhampton and Cirencester. It has a population of around 110, in the village itself and a number of outlying farms and houses. Cherington has a 12th century church, a village hall, a cricket field and allotments. We have a very active community for such a small place; our annual Flower Show is a flourishing event and we share a monthly magazine, The Villager, with the neighbouring parish of Avening. The Parish lies within Cotswold District Council (Tetbury Division) and Gloucestershire County Council.
The Parish Council meets bi-monthly – the dates are available on the Events calendar page. The public are welcome to attend meetings via Zoom and during this Covid outbreak requests to attend must be submitted to the Parish Clerk.
Zoom attendees may be asked to leave the meeting when their materials have been addressed, subject to the Clerk’s discretion.
We can be contacted via the Contacts form on this website, or via the Parish Clerk,
Mr Richard Smith, on 07884 265117 during office hours.
We have a welcome sheet for new residents here.
