Annual Governance and Accountability Return for 2023 has been published

Each financial year, the Parish Council is required to complete an Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) to ensure that we are managing public money in accordance with the relevant legislation.

As a small Parish Council with a precept of less than £25,000 we are exempt from an external audit, but employ an independent auditor to undertake the internal audit on our behalf. This year, we employed an auditor from the Gloucestershire Association of Parish and Town Councils. The internal audit provides valuable feedback on how robust our financial processes are and how they might be improved if necessary. The documents associated with this audit and the AGAR must be published and are now available to view on this site under ‘Finances for 2022-2023’.

The Parish Council is also required to make the financial records available for public inspection for 30 working days each year, which must include the first 10 working days of July. During the Public Inspection Period, any resident or interested party, has the right to view the accounts and comment. This year, the Public Inspection Period will run from 1 JULY 2023 – 11 AUGUST 2023.
